The Grand Tour
The home sits at the end of a private track leading up to the driveway, with parking adjacent to the house for several vehicles. The primary entrance is from the westerly side, unfolding into an incredibly bright double-height entrance hall where borrowed light streams down from skylights overhead, illuminating the central plan.
Wooden floors run underfoot from here and through to the large kitchen and dining room, well designed in a homely, cottage style, to suit the practicalities of everyday living. Appliances are set into lines of bespoke cabinetry topped with solid oak worktops, and arched French doors open directly to the terrace; a warm, sunny spot to eat outside in warmer months.
A large log burning stove forms a natural focal point in the adjacent living room, a cosy space with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and access from here to the gardens. There is also a useful utility space on this level, with laundry facilities and plenty of space for beach kits and muddy boots.
Ascending the central staircase, a galleried landing connects the three double bedrooms and a large family bathroom. The main bedroom is a spacious, peaceful room with incredible views across the coastline. An ensuite bathroom adjoins, and a generous provision of storage has been built into the eaves.
Two additional double bedrooms have similarly spectacular views and have been decorated in soft tones to create a calm and peaceful retreat. A bathroom lies at the far end of the landing, complete with a large walk-in shower and a bathtub.
The Great Outdoors
Private gardens wrap the house, bordered by mature trees and hedging to create privacy and seclusion. The paved terrace leads directly from the house on two sides, forming a natural flow between the inside and outside spaces. Undulating lawns are interspersed by deep beds of herbaceous perennials, bringing colour and interest through the seasons.
Out and About
This area of Wales is renowned for its breathtaking coastline and AONB nature reserves. Llanmadoc serves as a wonderful base for exploring the highlights of the wider Gower Peninsula on the Wales Coast Path, accessed at Cwm Ivy. Extensive walking routes and bridle paths lead directly from the house, and the long sandy beaches and sand dunes are easily reachable on foot in around 15 minutes.
For daily provisions and fresh local produce, there is an excellent community shop, also within walking distance, and the popular local pub, The Britannia Inn, well-loved for its traditional home-cooked food.
Daily bus services (except Sundays) link Llanmadoc with Swansea and other Gower destinations. The popular beaches at Rhossilli are a 20-minute drive away, and the broader shopping opportunities at The Mumbles are 15 miles to the east. Swansea is reachable in under 40 minutes by car.
